A Silent Get Away

A perky Hello to you readers, I know its been more than a while- a year is like a lifetime in writing terms... but I'm back and here to stay. I have been getting up to lots besides living the student life and I'm going to try to fill you all in as much as I can without rambling too much. So recently I took a visit to the countryside of West Wales in England. I went to a place called Llandysul Pontshaen, as soon as you drive in... in plain sight there are rather large green trees and prominent mountains which you cannot resit taking 50 of the same photos of. I stayed in a beautiful cottage on a farm called Yr hen beudy. I loved waking up to the sounds of sheep and birds, a change from traffic and people. Highlights of the trips, beautiful views, loving sunsets which made you feel as though you wanted to live in that moment forever. The lovely unique homes some with a dash of colour but each home is different designed to an individuals taste. There were plenty of lovely walks, a few welsh signs 'Araf' is the only one I remember meaning 'slow' hahaa. The rocky beach with seaside ice cream parlours.. it was all lovely and there are many more beautiful places to visit in Wales I'd highly recommend going!

More reading...

As I mentioned our hosts were awesome, they really made us feel welcome. The cottage is right next to the land were they keep the sheep and they had a walking route which led onto the highest peak point to get a 360 degree view- this was absolutely beautiful. On the way we could walk right were the sheep were (they all ran to one corner & 'muhhed' loudly) to join onto the 'kissing gates' theses gates separate the fields. Furthermore one of our hosts Rosemary Cripps is a Ceramic Artist who once upon a time began her passion with doubt on how far she would go with it. Well regardless she completed her degree in ceramic arts & blossomed into a well known Artist. She has her own workshop and studio were she allows people to view and purchase her work. Also she has worked with the Human Rights society and has presented her work in many many museums and galleries. So her work was so amazing I could not leave without buying some:

Tips:
  1. Always research a little before going to a new place, make a note of all the places of interest
  2. Get your hands on a map of the area
  3. Ask locals were they recommend going
  4. If you get lost go with the flow, you might discover something exciting
